  • 2 tbsp roasted red peppers sliced

Method
 

  1. Toast the bread slices until golden brown and crispy using a toaster, grill pan, oven, or air fryer.
  2. In a bowl, mash the avocado with lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper until mostly creamy but still slightly chunky.
  3. Dice the tomatoes and cucumbers, slice the roasted peppers, crumble the cheese, and chop the herbs.
  4. Spread the avocado mixture over the toasted bread.
  5. Top with tomatoes, cucumbers, roasted peppers, crumbled cheese, and herbs.
  6. Finish with olive oil, black pepper, and optional chili flakes.

Notes

  • Use sturdy rustic bread for the best texture.
  • Add ajvar or lutenitsa underneath the avocado for extra Balkan flavor.
  • Best served fresh immediately after assembling.
