Method
- Brew the espresso or strong coffee and pour it into a warm mug.
- Gently heat the plant-based milk until hot and steamy, but not boiling.
- Froth the warm milk using a milk frother, French press, blender, or hand whisk until foamy.
- Pour the steamed milk over the espresso.
- Spoon the foam on top.
- Sweeten with maple syrup or agave if desired.
- Finish with cinnamon or cocoa powder and serve immediately.
Notes
If you'd like you can sweeten it at will using honey or other plant-based sweeter.
For the creamiest vegan cappuccino, use barista-style oat milk or soy milk. Avoid boiling plant-based milk because it can separate and lose its smooth texture.
